From its founding in 1996, ATI Physical Therapy, a nationally-recognized provider of rehabilitation health services and specialty therapies, has grown from one clinic in Willowbrook, IL, to over 600 clinics in 24 states nationwide.
In 2008, ATI moved its corporate headquarters to a modern, spacious building at 790 Remington Boulevard in Bolingbrook, IL.
The Project
ATI has engaged Loberg Construction on more than 350 projects, including one of its largest — the expansion of its Bolingbrook headquarters. Following our completion in 2012 of a 48,000 square-foot office expansion, Loberg Construction embarked on a “take over” and 40,000 square-foot remodel that included transforming an adjacent, 20,000 square-foot warehouse into additional offices and a call center.
The remodel required extensive demolition and rebuilding work.
Project Highlights
Completely revamped and relocated executive wing
New IT department
Employee break room
Outdoor rooftop patio
Multiple new restroom facilities
Multiple brand-new lounges and conference rooms
Full-service “pub” for entertaining clients
Challenges
With approximately 300 ATI employees continuing to work on site, one of the biggest challenges was coordinating construction activities around normal business hours so that ATI employees, especially call center staff, could continue working with minimal disruptions such as noise, fumes, and dust from normal construction activities. Loberg Construction built weekend hours into its pre-construction plans to ensure that our activities were kept “out of sight, out of mind” during the workweek.
Outcomes
This project took approximately nine months to complete – on time and on budget. In all, Loberg Construction engaged more than 20 subcontractors on the project including carpenters, steel, storefront/glazing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, LV/data, flooring, fencing, concrete, masonry, joint sealants, D/F/H, Millwork, ACT, roofing, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and furniture, and appliance vendors.
